Making a homemade face mask is the closest that I get to a spa. I spend most of my day very busy learning, living and having a blast with my three children. I love my life and I wouldn’t change a thing about it but I often neglect myself. I find that when I allow myself to take thirty minutes to whip up, apply and rinse off a homemade natural facial mask I find myself much more relaxed and rejuvenated, ready to take on the next day!
Are you wanting to kick the chemicals out of your home and off of your skin? If so, ditch the chemical filled face masks and try one of my favorite homemade natural face mask recipes. You may have these homemade face mask ingredients waiting for you in your kitchen!
Bentonite Clay Facial Mask
My favorite and most basic homemade face mask recipe is bentonite clay and water. Simply mix the clay with water until it is a paste-like consistency. Gently cover your face with the mask, I rub the mask on in a circular motion, much like I do when I cleanse my skin using the oil cleanse method. Let the mask dry on your face then use a warm, wet washcloth to remove the bentonite clay facial mask.
Guacamole Facial Mask
You may have to try hard not to lick the spoon while making this mask! Mix half of a ripe avocado, 1 teaspoon of bentonite clay, and 1 tablespoon of raw honey until it forms into a paste. You can add more clay if needed to thicken up your facial mask. Apply the guacamole mask to your dry face and leave it on for 20 minutes then wash off with a warm wet washcloth.
Cucumber Facial Mask
Mix together 1/2 of a cucumber, 1 teaspoon of bentonite clay, and 1 tablespoon of raw honey. Again, add more clay if needed to form a paste. I mix this mask up in my food processor. Rub the mask onto your dry face and let set for 20 minutes, rinse off with a warm wet washcloth.
I try to use one of these masks weekly. I use the oil cleanse method daily to cleanse my skin. You now know my three favorite homemade natural face mask recipes. There are very few ingredients in these homemade face masks and chances are you probably have them in your kitchen right now!
