We are a homeschooling family trying to live a natural life.  We love to learn and we love to play.

I am fairly new to the whole homeschool lifestyle (yes, it is a lifestyle), and I can honestly tell you that I can not imagine my life any other way.   I did not always know that I wanted to homeschool, it sort of snuck up on me.  You can read why I chose to homeschool here.  My family’s life is crazy, hectic, fun, and amazing and I would not want it any other way!

This is our second year homeschooling.  I learned so much in my first year,  the manner in which we homeschool is a constant evolution.  The minute I think that I have found our routine, or groove, it changes.  I went from a very scheduled routine (read that curriculum here) to  unschooling.  I currently say that we are very relaxed eclectic homeschoolers/unschoolers.

In our family we learn through doing and playing more often than sitting at a table completing worksheets.  We love sensory play, crafts, and field trips.  We live in a beautiful place in the world that offers many fun, educational, and often free places to visit!

I homeschool on a very tight budget, I have to so that we can afford for me to stay home with our children.  My husband recently took a job that requires him to be gone from home….a lot.  Homeschooling is that important to us.  I cut corners anyway that I can.  You can read some of the ways that I cut corners here.

I love homeschooling and I love living a natural life.  I don’t only blog about homeschooling and playing, I also write about living naturally, parenting naturally, and cooking real food.
