I am quite sure that most people have a bottle of apple cider vinegar in their home and I am equally sure that many of these people have no idea of the endless ways that apple cider vinegar can be used for the health of your body and home. I am here to say that apple cider vinegar is AMAZING, really it is!
I find it is important to use a quality apple cider vinegar, I use Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar.
I could go on and on about the several hundred (yes, really) uses for apple cider vinegar (ACV) but I won’t, I think I will have to save that for another post. Currently, I am working on getting my youngest monkey to settle down while working on the skeleton for our American History learning adventures so I am simply going to share my (current) top ten uses for apple cider vinegar.
1. Boost your energy (& weight loss).
Who doesn’t need an energy boost? I add 1 tablespoon of ACV to a glass of water and can feel a significant improvement in my energy. When I was a child my mom drank this concoction for years to aid weight loss so I guess that is another use for ACV.
Ditch the chemical cleaners and replace them with ACV. I infuse my vinegar with citrus prior to making an awesome all-purpose cleaner, it looks pretty while it sits in the jars and it works & smells great!
3. It makes your hair shiny.
I use ACV in my No ‘Poo recipe. It has ended the days of dry itchy scalp and added a noticeable shine to my hair.
4. Soothes a sunburn.
I live on the coast of Florida. I always lather my homemade sunblock on my kids but have been known on more than one occasion to forget myself and find myself with an uncomfortable sunburn. I always have a bottle of 1/2 ACV and 1/2 water in a spray bottle, this concoction sprayed on sun burnt skin is instant relief (it also works great for those pesky jellyfish stings!). You can also add 1 cup of ACV to a bath of water for soothing relief.
5. It helps your body detox.
Apple cider vinegar creates an overall detoxification of your body.
6. It balances your body.
Not only does it aid in detoxifying your body it also helps to maintain a healthy alkaline pH level.
7. It can help your body get rid of candida.
This vinegar is rich in natural enzymes that can help rid your body of candida—yeasts that are attributed to thrush in humans. Candida is known to create symptoms such as fatigue, poor memory, and yeast infections.
8. It’s great for oral health.
ACV helps to remove stains from your teeth. Simply dab ACV on the stain and then rinse with water. Gargling with ACV and water for 10 minutes also eliminates bad breath.
9. ACV is a great toner for your skin.
Apple cider vinegar neutralizes pH and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.
10. Natural deodorant
If I don’t have any of my homemade deodorant available I simply rub some ACV under my arms to neutralize odors when necessary (I use coconut oil for this as well!).
