Spicy Shrimp Pasta

October 5th, 2011 | Posted by Angela Roberts in Recipes | Seafood

Spicy shrimp pasta is too spicy to feed to my kids so I typically make them shrimp scampi, which they love.

You can use any type of pasta.  I have used spaghetti, penne, and rotini, they are all delicious.  I typically use whatever pasta I happen to have on hand.

Here is what you need: 12 oz pasta of your choice, 1/4 cup butter,  1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined, 4 cloves of garlic, 1 bunch of green onions sliced, 1/4 cup flour, 2 tablespoons blackened seasoning, 2 cups of milk (cows milk or almond milk)

Here is what you do:  Bring large pot of water to boil and cook pasta for appropriate amount of time.  Meanwhile, melt butter in a large heavy skillet over medium heat.  Saute shrimp, garlic, green onions for about 3 minutes.

Use a slotted spoon to remove cooked shrimp, set aside.

Stir in flour and blackened seasoning.

Stir until mixed.

Slowly whisk in milk, then cook until thickened.  Remove from heat.  Return shrimp, garlic, and green onions.  Add the remaining pasta to the shrimp & sauce and mix it up!
